About Us

Lolly met Sean in his home town of Hastings in 2010, having re-located from South London in 2002 with her two children, Phebé & Charlie

 

The idea of re-locating to a warmer climate, away from the unpredicatble weather of the UK was born in 2015. We then visited The Loire for a month, with every intention to spend the next month towards The Charente, and the following month down in Carcassonne, but we fell in love with The Loire and there we stayed for 90 days, driving around, investigating areas and villages, viewing properties but were unsuccesful in our search. 

 

Feeling deflated we decided to drive a little further, meeting an estate agent near Richelieu who took us to La Galiserie! You know when you know and it was instant - La Galiserie gave us everything and more than we could ever wish for, apart from the luxury of electricity, water, floors, windows and doors etc - it was a derelict wreck!

 

We brainstormed the purchase, returning several times with a surveyor, checking out the bones of the buildings and roofs. Cleary we had uncovered a Jewel. The whole purchase was swift, completing at the end of January 2022. Between times we sat and drew up plans with our Architect. We threw ourselves in from the start, a little feral at the beginning, but that too was liberating! We’ve worked tirelessly, physically and mentally, making sure we got the development and the infrastructure completely right. We haven’t looked back and live with absolutely no regrets. Our move to La Galiserie has energised us, inspired us, and at the same time refreshed us.

 

2024 is a big year for us. We are hugely excited to finally open La Galiserie in welcoming guests to experience what we feel is a slice of heaven.

 

In 2025, we will pursue our own ambitions. Sean's history as an Olympic 400m runner will enable him to offer his experience and knowledge to inspire, re-educate, and help train individual athletes and/or groups. Lolly, although an interior designer, curtain maker, and upholsterer, has practiced Ashtanga Yoga for over 25 years and is passionate about hosting yoga retreats.
